Garlic Ginger Chicken

  • Total Time: PT45M
  • Yield: 4 1x

Description

A quick, flavorful dish with tender chicken coated in a fragrant garlic and ginger sauce, perfect for busy weeknights or family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the chicken pieces and cook until browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil. Add minced garlic and grated ginger; sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Stir in soy sauce and honey, mixing well.
  5. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet. Add water and stir to combine.
  6. If desired, mix cornstarch with a little water to create a slurry and add to the skillet to thicken the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce is glossy and thickened.
  7. Serve hot over rice, noodles, or vegetables.

Notes

Adjust the level of sweetness or spice by adding more honey or ginger. For a spicier version, include red pepper flakes.
