Description

Ingredients

12 mozzarella sticks (cut into bite-sized cubes) or 2 cups cubed mozzarella

½ cup grated parmesan cheese

1 cup breadcrumbs (Italian-style or panko for extra crunch)

½ cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (or dried oregano/basil)

Salt & pepper, to taste

Cooking spray or oil (for baking/frying)


Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  • Set up three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with a mix of breadcrumbs, parmesan, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.

  • Coat each mozzarella cube: dredge in flour, dip in egg, then roll in breadcrumb mixture. Press gently so the coating sticks. For extra crunch, double dip (egg → breadcrumbs → egg → breadcrumbs).

  • Arrange coated cubes on baking sheet. Lightly spray with cooking spray.

    • Bake: 8–10 minutes, until golden and crisp.

    • Fry: Heat oil in skillet and cook until golden brown on all sides. Drain on paper towels.

  • Serve warm with marinara, ranch, or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Chill breaded bites in the fridge for 15–20 minutes before baking to help coating stick.

To freeze: bread the cheese cubes, freeze on a tray until solid, then transfer to a freezer bag. Bake directly from frozen (add 2–3 minutes).

Avoid microwaving leftovers—it makes them soggy. Reheat in oven or air fryer for best results.
