- 4 large potatoes, peeled and sliced
- 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh herbs (optional, e.g., parsley or chives)
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish.
- Step 2: In a large bowl, combine sliced potatoes, sour cream, melted butter, salt, and pepper. Mix until well coated.
- Step 3: Layer half of the potato mixture in the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with half of the shredded cheese and half of the crumbled bacon.
- Step 4: Repeat with remaining potatoes, cheese, and bacon layers.
- Step 5: Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Step 6: Garnish with chopped herbs if desired. Serve hot.
Notes
Feel free to customize with additional herbs or cheeses. For extra richness, add a dollop of sour cream on top before serving.
