Description

- 1 sheet puff pastry (about 1/2 pound)
- 4 slices prosciutto
- 8 asparagus spears
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp water
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Thaw the puff pastry sheet if frozen. Roll it out slightly on a floured surface.
- Cut the puff pastry into 4 equal squares.
- Trim the asparagus spears to fit within the pastry squares.
- Wrap each asparagus spear with a slice of prosciutto.
- Place each prosciutto-wrapped asparagus on a puff pastry square, folding the pastry around the filling to form a bundle.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water to create an egg wash.
- Brush the tops of the puff pastry bundles with the egg wash.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Ensure the puff pastry is fully thawed before working with it. You can prepare the bundles ahead of time and refrigerate until ready to bake. Serve warm or at room temperature.
